Editing and proofreading

We review word by word, sentence by sentence, to ensure your writing is the best version of itself. We ensure any typos or grammatical errors are corrected. And, we ensure the essence of your story is consistent and true to itself.

Editing

Editing should be done within whichever word document format you are working in whether it be MS Word or Google Docs, etc. Editing changes can be made quite easily in these formats, but it does take time, as we read your book thoroughly ensuring that your words, phrasing, paragraphs follow basic grammatical guides, but also ensure your story stays true to the essence of your book.

It is a collaboration between us and you the author to ensure the story you are trying to tell is the best version of itself. The collaboration takes which ever form the author is the most comfortable with either a document with notations and questions, and/or verbal discussions — we are happy to accommodate the author’s preference. We are here to support you through your book project.

Editing of your book should be completed prior to any book design layout work.

Editing deals with content, story flow, punctuation, grammar, etc.; not with fonts, spacing and other such book design layout processes.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final step prior to moving onto the book design phase. Upon the completion of the editing to the point where the author feels ready to move onto book design phase — we proofread.

Proofreading is the slow and meticulous review of every word, sentence, punctuation placement, and paragraph. This ensures the elimination of typos or grammatical errors.

Proofreading of your book should be completed prior to any book design layout work.

Editing and proofreading thoroughly saves time and money in the book design process.
