Developing the look and feel of the interior of your book can be a very fun and creative exercise. Our approach is to collaborate with the author by providing a choice of fonts and colours for the author to choose from. Following a conversation with the author that has provided us with an understanding of the essence of the book — we choose fonts and colours for the author to consider.
If you have a book design that you particularly like, we can duplicate it, or create a design suitable to your book and a few sample pages will be sent to you for viewing see the earlier step of Book trim size and specifications. This will be repeated until you are completely satisfied with the design.
We create a number of sample pages such as the front material, and the first few chapters so the author gets a clear sense of the visual flow of their book. These sample pages are provided to the author to review from a .pdf that they can print out.
Printing out your sample pages provides a clearer perspective than reviewing on the screen. Holding the sample pages in your hands helps the author decide on the font for the chapter titles, the numbering, the text of the body of the book, etc.
This process of creating drafts continues until the author has decided on the final colour and fonts for each aspect of the interior of their book.
